Understand how Kittl tokens work, where to check your balance, which AI features use them, and how to buy extra tokens.
Tokens power Kittl’s AI features. They’re what lets you generate images, videos, and creative content. Understanding how tokens work helps you stay in control of your usage and get the most out of your plan.
What are tokens?
Tokens are Kittl’s currency for unlocking AI-powered features like Kittl Flow, AI Vectorizer, AI Image, AI Image Generator, AI Video, AI Chat, and Reframe. Each action consumes a number of tokens depending on the feature and model used.
Each action uses a small number of tokens, giving you a simple way to enhance your designs, speed up workflows, and explore creative variations. Tokens are directly tied to the costs of running advanced AI models that Kittl partnered up with (like OpenAI, Black Forest Labs with Flux Models, Stable Diffusion, and ByteDance with Seedream Models).
Token allocation by plan
Your token balance depends on your subscription:
Free plan: 200 tokens (one-time use). Enough to explore and generate up to ~100 images.
Pro plan: 2,000 tokens per month per editor.
Expert plan: 6,000 tokens per month per editor, plus 200 tokens daily.
Max plan: 12,000 tokens per month per editor, plus 600 tokens daily.
How tokens work
You spend tokens when you use AI-powered features, including:

AI Vectorizer
AI Image
AI Image Generator
AI Video
AI Chat
Reframe
Token costs vary per feature and AI model. Video generation costs more than images. For example, an 8s Veo 3.1 clip with audio can cost up to ~640 tokens. If something fails or doesn’t complete, your tokens are automatically refunded.
Check the cost before you generate
Every AI-powered tool shows you the token cost for your current settings before you generate, so there are no surprises.
In the AI input box, the cost updates automatically as you switch between AI models in the model picker.
Hover over the arrow up (send) button to see the token cost for your current settings before you click it.
Do tokens roll over?
No: tokens included in your subscription don’t roll over.
Yes: purchased tokens never expire.
Buying extra tokens
If you need more, you can purchase additional tokens (available on Pro, Expert, and Max plans):
2,000 tokens: $16 / €16 / £16
8,000 tokens: $48 / €48 / £48
20,000 tokens: $110 / €110 / £110
Where to buy extra tokens
From Team Settings
From the home page, click your workspace avatar below the Kittl logo in the upper-left corner.
Go to Team Settings > Plan & Billing.
Under Monthly Token Balance, click Get More Tokens.
From the Editor (Expert plan only)
Open the Editor.
Click AI Tokens in the bottom toolbar.
Click Get More Tokens.
Check your token balance
You can track your tokens anytime.
From the Editor
Click your token balance in the bottom toolbar to display the breakdown of your tokens.

From Team Settings
Go to Plan & Billing to see your monthly tokens and extra tokens separately.

Tokens from campaigns
Tokens from promotions and campaigns are added as Extra Tokens:
They don’t expire unless mentioned in the offer.
You can use them just like regular tokens.
To view them, go to Team Settings and click Plan & Billing.
Tips for using tokens wisely
Start with image generation before moving to video. It’s cheaper, so you can test your prompt first.
Test different prompts before generating large batches.
Choose AI models based on your needs. Higher-quality models use more tokens.
Keep an eye on your balance in the bottom toolbar while you work.
Common questions
Why did I lose a token when no image was generated?
Tokens are deducted when you click Generate. If your request fails or doesn’t complete, they’ll be refunded automatically.
Why don’t my monthly tokens roll over?
Tokens reflect real AI processing costs, so each plan refreshes monthly to match usage limits.
Why does video generation use so many tokens?
Video generation requires significantly more computing resources than image generation, so it consumes more tokens. You can check the estimated token cost in the editor before generating a video.
Where can I see my token balance?
You can track Tokens in two ways:
In the Editor: Click the tokens balance (bottom toolbar) to see usage while you create.
In Team Settings: Go to Plan & Billing to view your full balance.
Do tokens roll over month to month?
No. Tokens included with your subscription reset at the start of each billing cycle. Tokens represent real cloud computing costs that Kittl pays to AI providers, and each plan assumes a monthly allocation. At the start of your billing cycle, your balance refreshes automatically. Extra tokens you purchase, however, roll over month to month and never expire.
Can I purchase extra tokens?
Yes. Pro, Expert, and Max plan users can purchase extra tokens.
