Upload custom fonts

Upload .TTF or .OTF font files on a paid plan, find them in the font library, and manage font family style limits.

Bring in your own typefaces when the built-in font library doesn't have the one you need. Once uploaded, a custom font works just like any other font in the editor.

Before you start

Custom font uploads are available on the Pro, Expert, and Max plans. Only .ttf and .otf files are supported.

Open the font upload dialog

  1. Select a text element on your artboard.

  2. In the right panel, click the Text Style to open the font library.

  3. Click Upload font at the bottom of the panel.

  1. Click Choose Fonts to open your computer's file picker.

Add your font files

  1. In the file picker, select one or more .ttf or .otf files and click Open.

  2. In the Adding fonts to library dialog, edit the Font Family Name field at the top if you want to rename the family, or any Style Name field if you want to relabel a style.

  3. Click Add font styles to open the file picker again and add more files to the same family.

  4. Once every style you want is listed, click Upload to library.

If a file matches a style you've already added, it's flagged in red with a "Style already exists" warning. Remove the duplicate row with the trash icon before uploading.

Expected outcome

Your uploaded font appears under a new Uploads section in the font library, above All Fonts, alongside your Liked and Recently Used fonts. From there, you can select it for any text element like you would any other font, and like it just like other content in your library.

If you upload a font with the same name as one you already have, the newer one is added with a number after its name (for example, "Bustan OT" and "Bustan OT 1") rather than overwriting the original.

Troubleshooting

I got a "Style already exists" error

You've added the same style twice within the same font family upload. Delete the duplicate row in the Adding fonts to library dialog, then continue.

I can't add a missing style to a font I already uploaded

This isn't currently possible. Once a font family is uploaded, its styles are locked in. To add the missing style, upload the whole font family again from the start, including every style file this time.

My custom font doesn't look right in some text features

Full compatibility with every text feature isn't guaranteed for custom fonts. If something looks off, try a different style within the family or check that the file isn't corrupted.

Common questions

Which plans include custom font uploads?

Pro, Expert, and Max. It isn't included on the Free plan.

Can I delete a font I've uploaded?

Not at the moment. There's currently no option to remove a single uploaded font from your library.

What file types can I upload?

.ttf and .otf files only.

Do I have to upload every style in a font family at once?

It's strongly recommended. You can't add more style files to a family after uploading it or edit a single style later, so gather all the files you want (Regular, Bold, Italic, and so on) before you start.
