Align elements
Align one element to the artboard or align multiple selected elements to each other using the right panel controls.
Line up one element with your artboard, line up two or more elements with each other, or space three or more elements out evenly, all using the tools in the right panel's Alignment section. Reach for it any time you want a clean, evenly balanced layout without measuring or eyeballing it yourself.
Align an element to your artboard
Select one element, or select a group.
In the right panel, under Alignment, click a button (align left, align center, align right, align top, align middle, or align bottom) to line the selection up with the artboard.
Align elements to each other
Select two or more elements. Draw a selection box around them, or hold Shift and click each one.
In the right panel, click an alignment button to line the selected elements up with each other instead of the artboard.
Space elements evenly
Select three or more elements.
In the right panel, under Alignment, click Tidy to spread the selected elements out with equal spacing between each one.
Tidy needs three or more elements selected to do anything. With two or fewer selected, clicking it has no effect.
Expected outcome
The selected element or elements shift to line up either with the artboard's edges and center, or with each other, depending on which alignment button you clicked and how many elements were selected. With Tidy, the gaps between three or more selected elements become equal instead.
Common questions
Can I space multiple elements evenly?
Yes. Select three or more elements and click Tidy in the right panel's Alignment section. It equalizes the spacing between them automatically. Tidy only works with three or more elements selected, with two or fewer it won't do anything.
Do I need to select the artboard itself to align an element to it?
No. Select the element or group you want to move. As long as it sits on an artboard, the alignment buttons line it up against that artboard's edges and center, you don't need to select the artboard too.
